About our Chapter

The Kapolei Chapter, formerly the Waipahu Chapter, has been providing American Social dance classes since 1969.  Previously located in Waipahu,  the chapter relocated  to the Kapolei Elementary School in July 2008.  The current location is accessible to a large number of west side communities, with members coming from Kapolei, Makakilo, Ewa Beach, Waipahu, Kunia and Waianae.  We also have members coming from as far as Mililani,  Makaha and Honolulu.    The Kapolei Chapter has seen a steady increase of members over the past three years, and it is now the largest HBDA chapter on Oahu.

The Kapolei Chapter will carry on Waipahu’s history and years of service with HBDA.  2009 marked the chapter’s 40th anniversary, the same year HBDA celebrated its 50th anniversary.
